This Ofada Rice is a brown Nigerian local rice wodely known for it's great taste and aroma.
It's an unpolished destoned rice, free of dirts and naturally preserved to retaining it's natural nutrients which makes it safe and hygenic.
It is highly nutritious and healthy.
The taste is great and can be enjoyed by everyone. No artificial processing, no preservative.
This Ofada rice is highly blended, and contains Oryza glaberrima (African rice) as well as the more common Oryza sativa Asian rice, and can be categorized as either brown/red Ofada or white Ofada on the basis of unmilled seed colour. Grain size, shape, and shade variations.
As African rice is more difficult to mill and polish, some or all of the rice bran is left on the grain, strengthening the flavor and making it more nutritious. They are also known for swelling in size when cooked.
Ofada rice is typically priced higher compared to other available rice, and it has been regarded as a sign of status symbolism by some people.
In contemporary times, it is sometimes served at classy parties.
