The CD4017 decade counter IC is a CMOS Decade counter or divider that is used for counting applications as it has the capability of turning on 10 outputs sequentially in a pre-defined time. The IC has 16 pins with a wide supply voltage ranging from 3V to 15V. The typical operating speed of this IC is 5Mhz.
