Internationally award-winning Amarula cream is best enjoyed neat or on ice. The spirit of Africa – Amarula comes from the southern plains of Africa where the marula fruit is grown. The fruit attracts many animals, especially elephants, and is often referred to as the ‘elephant treeÂ’ because elephants travel miles for it. The marula tree is important local tribal legend because its fruit is believed to have aphrodisiac properties, and so, features in local fertility rites. The marula tree is also known as “The Marriage Tree” and tribal weddings take place beneath its branches to this day.
